The Leader of the Free World

So much has changed since January 2009. The disenfranchised of the world used to look to the US and Britain, but esp us, as the champions of freedom and free elections. (In regards to Iran's disputed elections) Now this is the best we can say,

At the State Department, spokesman P.J. Crowley said: "This is really about the Iranians and the relationship between the Iranian people and the Iranian government. This is not about the United States."

And Britain's posture is about the same. Sad, I think. I wouldn't advocate sending troops into Iran to ensure free elections, but we could call a spade a spade.

Government is not going to be the solution any way we look at it though. Jesus Christ will be the salvation of the world. These words penned by Isaiah centures ago and recited by Christ when he came to his home town and said they were fulfilled in Him, remain true:

17 The scroll of the prophet Isaiah was handed to him. Unrolling it, he found the place where it is written: 18 "The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to release the oppressed, Luke 4:17-18

Pray Christ will raise up prophets and saints to clearly preach freedom today.
